Newcastle Business School's MBA/Masters conversion is
specifically designed for people that want to study for an
MBA but can't get on the programme owing to limited or
zero work experience.

How it works...

First, you study on campus for one of three Masters programmes. Next, you gain relevant work experience. Then you apply for the entry to the MBA conversion. It's as easy as that.

Stage 1 - the Masters programme

We offer a choice of three Masters programmes. Each is one year in duration and covers a variety of disciplines so you're bound to find something that's right for you.

Masters in Business and Management:

This programme is open to honours graduates (or
equivalent) from any discipline. It's designed to
expand career options by combining the specialist
knowledge gained during undergraduate study with
a general business and management postgraduate
qualification.

Masters in International Business Administration:

Applicants must hold an honours degree in Business Studies or a related area. The aim is to create a thorough understanding of international business management and the environment in which such businesses operate.

Masters in Business with International Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Hospitality and Tourism
Management:

This broad-based programme is designed for students who hold an honours degree or equivalent in any discipline with a slightly different pathway for graduates with a business related degree. The excellence of this programme enables you to specialize in one of the five key management areas:

  • International
  • Financial
  • Marketing
  • Human Resource
  • Hospitality and Tourism

Stage 2 - relevant work experience

At NBS, the emphasis has always been about
putting business theory into practice. As a result all
our programmes are designed to make the transition from study to the real world as seamless as possible.

Previous masters graduates have gone
on to work in the pharmaceutical, banking and retail industries as well as management positions all
over the world, in both the public and private sectors.

Stage 3 - Masters conversion - online study

Entry* to the MBA is simple and flexible. As soon as you feel ready, just let us know. However you will normally need around three years full time relevant work experience.

*Entry is open to graduates of the NBS Masters programmes stated above

The MBA is awarded on successful completion of a 60 credit consultancy project, normally based on your current employer and something that should be of significant practical value to the organisation. This must be submitted within one calendar year of enrolment on the programme.

The consultancy project can be completed with no need to attend campus lectures or seminars. Because your supervisor is online you can study anywhere, at anytime
and at your own pace. So it fits perfectly around your work and leisure commitments. All guidance material for the project is provided.

That's all there is to it. Why not start the process today?
