Philip Shrives, Reader in Accounting and Corporate Governance

Philip qualified as a chartered accountant with the firm now known as Ernst and Young and has also lectured at the Financial Training Company Ltd (now Kaplan). At present he is Reader in Accounting and Corporate Governance having previously been Programme Director for a suite of innovative Business undergraduate programmes and Division Leader for Accounting and Financial Management.
His main research interests are in voluntary disclosure and he has co-authored a number of articles in this area. At present he is concerned with research into Corporate Governance and Social Accounting. He has also supervised a number of PhD students in this area. He is an external examiner at Heriot Watt university and is a senior moderator for the Association of International Accountants.
