A programme of Masterclasses are run in conjunction with Newcastle University for local Gifted and Talented students in year 13 and 2nd year college.
They cover a wide range of subjects and give students the opportunity to study a subject in which they excel, in greater depth, as well as providing them with the opportunity to participate in study within a university context.
The subjects available are:

- Engineering
- French
- German
- ICT
- Spanish
- Sport
