COURSE INFORMATION
Students on the programme will engage with theoretical and applied perspectives of HRM/D practice. This includes frameworks for reviewing, reflecting, analysing and critiquing existing individual and organisational practices as well as providing new knowledge and skills, enabling enhanced and more appropriate practices to be developed in a context of change.
The Masters programme builds upon knowledge and skills required for accreditation to CIPD and focuses on three main areas to enable 'postgraduateness' in the area of HRM/D:
- the contribution of human resource management to corporate strategy;
- the management of organisational learning and knowledge,
- and the development of appropriate research knowledge and skills to undertake a major research project in the area of HRM/D.
This programme has been developed for practitioners who have worked for between 2 and 5 years at managerial level in HRM/D, and are graduate members of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and now wish to undertake academic study at postgraduate level, leading to the award of MA in HRM and Development.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development is the professional body, representing individuals who make a specialist people management and development contribution to organisations at a strategic, and/or functional level.)
