Phd Endorsements
Katja Pastoors (Year 1)

"I graduated from the Master of International Business Administration at Newcastle Business School in 2001. Since then I have been a management consultant with IBM Business Consulting Services. I am currently on a sabbatical to study for my PhD.
As regards the PhD, I especially enjoy studying within an international student group and think that the Business School has maintained a very personal teaching style.
As a Graduate Tutor I teach undergraduate as well as postgraduate students, in addition to studying for my PhD.
This gives me the opportunity to be financially independent, as well as providing me with the opportunity to gain my experiences of teaching.
Newcastle Business School is certainly an exciting place to be!"
Ike Ogba (Year 2)

"I am a PhD student in the Newcastle Business School where I also obtained my MBA degree in 2003. My research interests are in the fields of Marketing, People and Organisational Development. My PhD research is centred on examining approaches to conceptualising and measuring organisational commitment in a developing ecomomy.
I was attracted to the city of Newcastle and Northumbria University after going through the University's brochure and learning about Newcastle Business School's MBA programme - it has a friendly community of staff and students.
At the end of my MBA in 2003, it seemed a logical progression to progress to my PhD as this would create new opportunities for me to further enhance my knowledge of research in business and management.
Moreover, having enjoyed great association with fellow students, support from the University staff, and served in various capacities as the Chairperson of a student society, as well as Students' Union Executive among others, the University has become my second home!"
